Dosa is very common in India and serve with different condiments and other variations. Be creative in making dosa to impress your kids. See this article and learn how you can make cone dosa in a very easy way. You can serve cone dosa with chutney/sambar or you can also fill it with your favorite filling.

  • Ingredients:

  • Idli rice 3 cups (soaked)

  • Whole urad dal (without skin) ½ cup (soaked)

  • Fenugreek seeds ½ tsp

  • Water as required

  • Salt as needed

  • Directions:

  • Drain water from urad dal and put in grinder along ½ cup water and grind it. After 4-5 minutes add ½ cup more water and grind again. Grind it by adding water until you get a smooth light and fluffy batter.

  • Shift ground batter in a large bowl.

  • Now add rice with a little water in grinder and grind it same like urad dal by adding water in badges. (Don’t worry if it takes time in getting a smooth texture.

  • Add rice batter in urad dal along fenugreek and salt; mix with hand.

  • Cover bowl and keep it in a warm place for fermenting minimum of 12-14 hours. Keep it at evening and make next day in the morning.

  • It should have spread able consistency. If it seems thick add a little water.

  • Spread a spoon full of dosa batter on griddle and eventually spread it in a thin layer.

  • Don’t flip it. Drizzle oil over it and cook on medium flame for a crisp texture.

  • When it starts browning using a kitchen scissors cut the dosa until the middle of dosa.

  • Carefully roll dosa from one end to the other like a cone.

  • Cone dosa is ready.

  • Serve with chutney.
