  • It resembles very much like mustard seeds and known as nachni in Bombay. Raagi grains are good and beneficial for sugar patients.

  • What you have to do when you buy the Raagi grain?

  • Clean it thoroughly and then soak in water for two to three days. Change water in the night, then tie in a cloth and keep it to sprout. Once the grains are sprouted, dry them in shade and get it milled. Strain the flour and make porridge. First try with one table spoon of flour, mix little water and milk for boiling. When the milk boiled add the diluted mixture and boil for a while. Allow to cool and feed the child. The child may pass blackish motion, that is not be worried. The child will gain weight with this raagi milk.

  • Ragi Ka Gola

  • Many people have this made into a thick mass which is called Ragi ka gola and have for sehri also. This is good for anyone who is weak specially the people having sugar.

  • How to Make Ragi Gola

  • The method to make the Ragi hit is boil water with little salt. Once the water boils add the flour about two cups and mix it with ghotni nicely. When the colour will change, remove it from the fire and make orange size balls. Have it with any curry some people take it with ghee and sugar. It is very good healthy food.
